About

Orlando Mee is a media artist living and working on Nharangga land in regional South Australia. His works include immersive concert visuals, animated virtual reality films, interactive multimedia installations, participatory art games, and experimental video art. He holds a Master of Animation, Games and Interactivity from RMIT University (graduated 2019).

Orlando has designed immersive visuals for such renowned classical music ensembles as the Australian String Quartet (2022), Pocket String Quartet (2022), and Seraphim Trio (2021). His animated VR short 'Scene Thru' (2019) was commissioned by Adelaide’s MOD. museum, and his second VR animation 'Tralfamadol' (2020) was created with support from the City of Melbourne. His multimedia works have been exhibited internationally at The Wrong Biennale, Video Art Miden [Greece], and Fringe Arts Bath [UK].

His professional developments include a six-month menteeship by creative technologist Tim Gruchy (2022), participation in ‘EXPAND Lab’ for the Adelaide Film Festival (2023), and the International Game Concept Challenge 2017 in Nagoya, Japan. He has undertaken multiple residencies in the town of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast, where he staged his first solo exhibition in 2023.
